Surajit Koley is a poet, essayist and story writer of Bengali literature also an editor of Mangaldeep Sahitya Patrika . He has several single books and edited books numbering around 5. Over 100 collective anthologies of poetry have been published.
Participated in the international essay competition and won third place consecutively three times. Also received the Outstanding Performer and Editor Choice Award.
He has been honored with various awards and honors from various organizations in West Bengal and at the national level for his distinguished contribution to literature.
Also writes regularly in various papers and magazines like Utsho Manush, Sahitya Darpan, Barshan, etc. He has got writer membership from International Writers Union from Bangladesh and Bengali Writers Sangsad from Dutta Fulia in Nadia.
Besides writing and editing, he has associated himself with various social service works. For this he won the National Coveted Social Worker Award by Star Record Book. Several of his solo books and several books edited by him are going to be published in the future.
Education
Passed Madhyamik in 1998 from Salkia Hindu High School (Unit-2) of Howrah district. After H.S that in the year 2000 from Lal Baba College, Belur. Passed B.Com in 2003 from Lal Baba College in Commerce Department under Calcutta University.
Career
After graduation, he taught in various coaching centers for some time. Since 2006, he has been working as an administrative manager in a Private company.
Entry into the world of literature :- He was fond of literature since his school days. He loved to read various poems, stories, and essays. Since then, he used to write a few poems, essays and stories in his diary. Loves to write about social issues. Writing a daily diary was once a regular practice. Favorite author is Saratchandra Chattopadhya. From there he got inspiration to write on social issues. He used to participate in various essay competitions since his school days. The first poem published in Shaswato Nirbhik Pathik magazine was the poem Veer Bireshwar written about Swamiji.
Contribution to the world of literature – At present, the number of published joint collections of poems:-
Bogra, Dhaka, Bangladesh The poem “Pita Amar Param Guru” written by the poet in the book titled “Baba Mane Bot Briksh” published by Samayer Sur Publications was published in Amar Ekushey Book Fair-2022 in Bangladesh. One of only five poets from India has been selected & Surajit Koley was one of the poets for this anthology.
Also received certificate of first division pass with nearly ninety percent marks in Grade-1 course on Bhagavad Gita from ISKCON Mayapur.
